Advanced Placement / Honors
The Smyrna School District is committed to preparing students for advanced course work so that they will be well prepared for college classes and beyond.  Students in the Honors/Advanced Placement track will receive instruction with an increased pace and rigorous standards.  However, teachers are committed to helping students move to new heights through innovative instructional methods.  Students are expected to be creative, commit to the task of advanced course work, and to think critically.
  • To cultivate the talent that exists in our schools and to help students achieve goals that they could not achieve on their own.
  • To foster independent, critical thinking and intellectual curiosity through the open exchange of ideas and enhanced coursework.
  • Prepare all students for college level material and ensure that they possess the skills to be successful in the next level of their education.
